Sport Floor Refinishing

Over time your Sport floor will go through many changes. From screening and coating to expansion and contraction of the wood, from seasonal changes that can crack and chip the paint in the artwork. If your gym floor has years of neglect, has dull or faded paint and finish, cracks in the paint, peeling or flaking finish, several layers of finish, or is more than 10 years old. All of these are indicators it may be time to have your sport floor sanded and re-finished

Refinishing Explained?

Unlike routine sport floor maintenance , full sanding removes the entire floor surface removing all finishes, paint, stains  sealers, down to raw wood and exposing a fresh raw wood surface. This allows us to start with a clean slate adding any stain or sealer all new artwork with fresh brilliant colors.

Why Refinish?

Here Is How The Process Works:

  1. Give us a call to schedule an on-site visit.
  2. We will come to your facility and go over your project with you, take measurements, and photos. We will be happy to answer any questions you may have at that time.
  3.  We will send all the information gathered to our expert design team. There they will create a digital layout for your new gym floor.
  4.  Once approved, we move forward with scheduling
  5. . On our arrival date we will do pre-work preparations, including securing entry ways and hanging plastic for dust mitigation.
  6. After pre-work preparations are completed, we will begin the sanding process.  We sand our sport floors using course medium and fine grits of sandpaper until a smooth uniform surface is achieved.
  7.  The floor is vacuumed and cleaned until there is no dust or debris left on the floor surface.
  8. Stain Color if any are applied and the maple wood floor is sealed completely.
  9. We abrade the floor using advanced equipment. The floor is vacuumed and cleaned once again.
  10. Game lines are laid out and painted; artwork, and logos will also go down at this time.
  11. Finally, the finish topcoats are applied smoothly and evenly with no streaks or dry spots.
  12. We’ll do a final walk through to make sure everything meets your expectations and address any issues at that time

The average gymnasium floor about 8,000sf., can be completed in about 12 days with a full cure time of 7 days for a total of less than three weeks downtime.

Refinishing involves sanding to bare wood, while screening is a light abrasion to the top coat. Screening is best for routine gym floor maintenance, while sanding addresses deeper issues and allows for full redesigns.
